How does being Asian outside of Asia affect one’s identity?
“Where Are You Really From” is a series of conversations
with Asians that have grown up outside of Asia, manifested into individual
books. These books are made complex and with many layers to display the
different layers built within a person of many cultures. They aim to display
unique stories and faces, and to push back on the generalization of Asians based
on how they look.

Asian-Americans have grown up in a middle ground where they are considered other because of how they look, while
people from Asia don’t think they’re Asian enough.
